The first and only Cross-Border Industrial Zone in china is called Zhuhai-Macao Cross-Border Industrial Zone. It was approved and established by the State Council in 2003 in order to promote economic cooperation between the Mainland and Macau, representing the well-known “One country, two systems” policy. The whole zone is located somewhere between Zhuhai Gongbei Maoshengwei and Qingzhou in the northwestern part of Macau, divided into Zhuhai Park and Macau Park, separated by a river. The two parks are separately managed by the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, connected by a special port channel.
