China's Cross-Border E-Commerce Zones (中国跨境电子商务综合试验区) are pilot city areas aimed at gradually forming a set of management systems and rules that adapt to and lead the development of global cross-border e-commerce. The first cross-border e-commerce zone is China (Hangzhou) Cross-Border E-Commerce Zone, established in 2015. Then the number keeps growing with 12 more zones established in 2016, 22 in 2018, 24 in 2019, and a further 46 in 2020.
